Now you can visit with the Museum Card Heimtali Museum in Viljandimaa, which presents the history of the Estonian national textile art.
Heimtali Museum is a museum of local history, valued primarily because the objects have remained where they were once made and used. It is located in three buildings, the oldest of which is a more than 150 years old former village schoolhouse.
Heimtali Museum has an extensive collection of national textiles and a library focused on folk art and domestic culture.
Heimtali Museum was founded by the textile artist Anu Raud in 1991. Two decades later, she donated the museum to the Estonian National Museum. This year, Heimtali features several exhibitions encompassing Anu Raud’s life and work under the collective title “Anu Raud. Patterns of Life.”
