Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia

A gateway to contemporary art

The Estonian Museum of Contemporary Art is a self-emerged institution dedicated to contemporary art, which functions primarily as a public non-profit exhibition house and as an art museum in its own right.

The Estonian Museum of Contemporary Art exhibits, collects, and enables the creation of contemporary art, while also trying to redefine the rooted mechanisms of action, rules, and methods in exhibiting artworks.

The museum is located in the former industrial building of the Tallinn Thermal Power Plant and is open seasonally, from April to December. Every season there are four to six exhibitions, and there is no permanent exhibition in the museum. Some works from the permanent collection are exhibited in the sculpture and art garden. Each exhibition is accompanied by a multilingual educational program for visitors. There is also a community garden in the outdoor area of the museum.
