Heimtali Museum
The wisdom of life from generation to generation
Heimtali Museum is the museum of local history, valued primarily for the fact that the objects have remained in the place where they were once made and used. It is located in three buildings, the oldest of which is more than 150 years old former village schoolhouse.
Heimtali Museum has a large collection of national textiles, along with a library focused on folk art and domestic culture.
Heimtali Museum was founded by the textile artist Anu Raud in 1991. Two decades later, she donated the museum to the Estonian National Museum. This year, Heimtali features several exhibitions encompassing Anu Raud’s life and work under the collective title “Anu Raud. Patterns of Life.”
